  1. The 14th amedment guarantizes citizenship to everybody born in the United States and protects civil and political rights.
Anchor babies are children of alien parents, when they reach the majority age they can help there parents obtain citzenship in the United States. The cartoonist is saying that anchor babies are harmful to the country because of immigration issues and they should be "thrown overboard" but at the end the man trying to throw the baby overboared falls down too haha because he is going against the 14th amedment.

  3. In my professional opinion I believe that the 14th amendment grants anyone born in the USA citizenship. An anchor baby is a baby born in the USA and has immigrant parents. The cartoonist is trying to say that kids with immigrant parents should also be deported. Hard to believe but in this case a cannot make up my mind and take a side and this is because I believe that if you only deport the parents then you leave the kids without parents and so they have to fend for themselves which would make their lives harder. In the other hand I believe that if the 14th amendment grants the privilege to be a citizen then y should they take what’s rightfully yours.

  4. By throwing away the 14th amendment you would also throw away most of the people that are here in this country illegal manly from such countries as Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. These people immigrate into our country have babies that automatically are U.S. citizens. When this happens it is hard for the government to send the parents back to their home country due to morality of the human conciseness. By getting rid of the 14th we would no longer have to deal with this type of problem but it would create more problems than there are now. I do agree with this cartoonist that we should get rid of the anchor babies but we would have to do so diplomatically as not to start a civil war.

  5. The Fourteenth Amendment specifies who are legal citizens of the United States and their protections under the law. An anchor baby is a child born in US by illegal immigrant parents. The cartoonist is trying to tell the reader that anchor babies are harmful since they can help illegal immigrants obtain citizenship in the United States. People are already skeptical of immigrants, fearful that they might be terrorists. Also, these illegal immigrants are taking away jobs from people who are actual citizens. But we cannot just throw away the Fourteenth Amendment, since it is in the foundation of the United States, the Constitution, which is why the man also goes overboard with the baby. I do agree with the cartoonist that anchor babies need to go, but doing so in a sensible way.

  6. The 14th amendment is eqaul protection and citizenship. An anchor baby is a kid born from illegal aliens. The cartoonist is trying to tell the reader that anchor babies are as bad as illegal aliens and because of them illegal aliens are treated as residents and have oppurtinities here in the US, basically the anchor baby is an illegal alien like it's parents. Also anchor babies are citizens so they have the right to the 14th amendment, making it impossible to judge it into being an illegal alien and the guy is thrown with the baby because the baby still has rights.

  7. The Fourteenth Amendment is very important to many Hispanics and people from other countries. As a statistic, Hispanics manke about more than 40% of the USA. Most of them are immigrants, many of whom work for the USA. Without Hispanics this country would not be able to run properly considering USA's workforce IS MOSTLY Hispanic. Throwing away the 14th Amendment would be like throwing away America's future. By "86ing" it, the immigrant problem would end, but there would be many other problem following it that it would bring the USA down with it. I agree with the cartoon in which if the anchor babies are thrown overboard, then the anchor baby thrower would fall with it. The USA would collapse and fail to function.

  10. The 14th Amendment is provide equal protection under the laws and for anyone who are "born or naturalized in the United States" will granted citizenship. The anchor baby is the child that was born from alien parents, and especially from illegal immigration parents. The cartoonist is try to tell the viewers that there is a connection between the 14th amendment and the anchor baby which is the children that are born in US from illegal immigration parents. The reason was because these children(anchor baby) was receiced the citizenship from the 14th amendment. So, if these children which is the anchor baby decide to throw this amendment away then the decision is also throwing their protection under the 14th amendment. That's why there is a chain or rope connect between the baby and the 14 amendment. I do agree with the cartoonist. The reason because of how the creation of the amendments can cause a problem, but also taking alway the amendment can create an impact of a problem.
