The mid-term election has just passed. Unfortunately for Obama, this meant that the Republicans regained their control in the House of Representatives. Many incumbents(the person already holding an elective office) were not reelected this past mid-term election. There was no coattails effect (the ability to attract and hold support for other candidates in the same party). Because of this, Obama was humbled after seeing the results. He knows that he will have to try his best to work with the Republicans if he wants to make future changes to our nation.

ReplyDeleteObama is talking about the mid term elections held November 2,2010 in which the Republicans won the House of Represents 239 R-189 D. Obama will now have to be humble and comply with the Republicans in oder to fix current issues. The question is will they be able to work together? Many incumbents (In office;running against a challenger. In almost every political race,the incumbent has an edge.)were tossed out in this midterm election. Belonging to a certain party didnt benefit them, no coattails (the ability to attract and hold support ) were used. Gerrymandering(political lines drawn) was used an lines were drawn between the partys.
ReplyDeleteIt is never fun being behind enemy lines. From the battle field to the school yard, people like to stay in their own clique. Obama is now sitting at the other table away from his friends and surrounded by Republicans. Right now he is in a Quagmire which is a difficult, precarious, or entrapping position, and he is swimming waist deep in his own mistakes. After the midterm elections republicans are now the forefront of the country. Being “humble” is not the only thing that Obama needs to do in order to survive the rest of his time in office. The main thing that he must do is to promote synergy which is two or more bodies working together to produce a result not obtainable by any of the bodies independently. He still has two years left In his term, if he can make it that long, till he gets the chance to run for reelection, let all of us hope that the Republicans don’t tear him apart.
